lt was a brilliant performance. Even though it was Bharata Natyam in its most pure form, her adaptations were most realistic. The Krishna piece was specially wonderful for the beauty of her expressions. She wound up her performance with a Thillana followed by Vande Mataram as the crowd gave her a standing ovation.

The distinctive aspect of vani's dance was that through the easy expressions of her visage and movements of the body, she employed a powerful visual vocabulary so clearly that even those with a nodding acquaintance with the form followed everything ..
